Combalia, a company owned by the Noatum Maritime group, leader in maritime, logistic and port services, has started to market the new direct service to South America offered by the shipping company NYK. The service will start next 19 May with the port call of the ship Antares Leader in Barcelona.
The service will connect different European ports with Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Zarate, Callao, Iquique and San Antonio; in addition to extending the service to Balboa, Puerto Caldera, Corinto, San Lorenzo, Acajutla, Puerto Quetzal and Lazaro Cardenas.
Offered on a monthly basis, this connection shows the strong commitment of the Japanese shipping company to this new route, which will feature a direct service and very competitive transit times. Cargo from the Iberian Peninsula will be taken on-board by NYK through several regular port calls in Barcelona, Sagunto and Vigo.
With 111 Car-carrier ships and over 16% of the global market share, NYK holds the first position in the worldwide vehicle transportation fleet ranking. This new service will add to 13 further sea routes now being offered by NYK thanks to its contracts with the largest vehicle manufacturers worldwide.
NYK currently offers 2 monthly departures from Barcelona to the Middle East, Asia and Oceania, as well as 5 monthly calls on the route to Northern Europe. Though a service coming from South Africa, Vigo currently has 2 monthly port calls on the route to Northern Europe, while Sagunto has one fortnightly port call on the route to America and Japan.
