The term “tramp” refers to ships that do not have a fixed route of ports of call, or a set schedule. Unlike regular liner ships, which do have established routes, tramp ships transport goods, generally in bulk, which must be loaded and unloaded at the agreed ports and on dates determined by the charter party.
The ships are contracted for full or partial cargoes and to make one or more trips, or for a specific period of time.
Having a Tramp agency that provides a flexible and proactive service, like Noatum Maritime‘s, is an added value for the supply chain and for our clients in particular, since it means that port operations can be planned and carried out efficiently, and we can focus our efforts on providing the best service at a competitive cost.
