On December 14 Jordi Trius, Managing Director of Maritime Services Agency Network, and Ander Rodriguez, Business Development Area Manager, introduced to 19 professional training students the challenge proposed by Marmedsa Noatum Maritime (MNM) as participant to the Port Innova project. Driven and coordinated by Induct and organized by Port of Barcelona – Port 2000 with support of Fundació BCN Formació Profesional and the Consorci d’Educació de Barcelona the initiative aims to enhance the relationship between maritime companies and professional training students providing benefits for both sides. MNM is one of the 13 companies located at Port of Barcelona who take part at the project’s second edition.
“Iranian market opportunities through Port of Barcelona” is the challenge proposed by MNM on which students should work during the first semester of 2017. Projects created during this process are based on real companies’ challenges which allows students to get to real professional work and also to improve the professor’s training on innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship. In return, participating companies get access to innovative talent with social impact while identifying innovative opportunities and creating new projects.
The winning project of last edition was a special buoy which solved the Port of Barcelona challenge to look for a new maritime monitoring digital system able to calculate the swell, the temperature and the sea level at a low fabrication and maintenance cost. The prize was a trip to Berlin where students joined a workshop on innovation.
