Alberto Hernández is appointed new director
Madrid, 6 May 2019.- Marmedsa Noatum Maritime Bilbao is strengthening its team by appointing a new director who has more than 20 years of experience in the management of logistics and port projects. Alberto Hernández, who has extensive training in Merchant Marine and Maritime Transport at the University of the Basque Country, will be directing this office in the future.
At Marmedsa Noatum Maritime, Alberto Hernández will be managing the Bilbao office in all areas of shipping agency, for all types of vessels (regular line and Tramp) and commercial development in the various lines of business of Noatum Maritime Services. Furthermore, and significantly, one of his objectives will focus on fostering synergies between Bilbao and other business areas in the Noatum Group, including port terminals (Noatum Terminals) and specialised and international logistics (Noatum Logistics).
Due to its strategic location, Bilbao is a very significant hotspot for Noatum Maritime Services, with particular specialisation in conventional cargo and short sea services.
“We are already a leader in economic activity related to the transport of goods and from now on, we want to take a step forward in the internationalisation of our services”, explains Hernández. “This internationalisation involves expanding our presence in new markets in the short term, and at the same time, increasing our Spanish market share,” –he adds –.
